A fighting game in card form.
Learn your character, practice combos, and read the opponent’s tendencies.
DESCRIPTION
Yomi is a fighting game in card form where physical dexterity is replaced by hand management skills. Just like in a fighting game, you have to know your character, know the matchup, and know your opponent. Each character has a deck that follows the same conventions as a deck of playing cards. This makes it easy to learn the contents of your deck: numbered cards are normal moves, face cards are special moves, and aces are super moves.
WHAT’S COOL ABOUT IT?
Captures the feel of fighting games. Learn your matchups!
Good for a quick session and portable enough to play on-the-go.
Hand management to build combos is fun.
Can be played as a serious competitive game. Has a high skill-ceiling so it's something you can play over a thousand times. It’s had a long history of almost two decades of tournaments.
Yomi is the first “fighting card game” on the market. Designed by a lead designer of the Street Fighter and Fantasy Strike video games.
CENTRAL MECHANICS
Simultaneous Combat
Each turn, you and your opponent each play a face-down combat card, then simultaneously reveal them.
Different Payoffs
Because each option gives different payoffs (that change as the game unfolds), it gives you a basis to “read” what the opponent will likely to do, so you can counter them.
Win with a block ⮕ draw cards.
Win with an attack or throw ⮕ do a combo.
(Throwing a block helps deny the opponent cards.)Win with a dodge ⮕ hit back with a single move.
(Strongest once you have built up a powerful super move.)
Combos
Yomi's combo system allows normal attacks to chain in increasing order, and you can then combo to "linkers" and "enders."
20 Characters
Find the character whose personality matches your playstyle.
Explore the 210 different 1v1 matchups, or over 18,000 possible 2v2 matchups.
(Sold separately in Yomi Round 1, Round 2, and 12 additional decks.)
Know Your Deck
Each character has a character card and a deck with poker values.
That makes it easy to learn how many of each move you have.
